Hey everyone- I'm switching over to a new blog- same stuff... go to:

http://blogsoflauren.blogspot.com

Original name, right?  I kind of feel sad laying this one to rest... I've been writing on here since sophomore year of college!  I'll still keep it up but all new posts will be on the new and 'improved' one :)

Well, I pushed the GRE back a week to Monday the 29th...not sure that that extra time is going to buy me GRE points, but I figure it can't hurt... However, I am not taking that as an excuse to not study- so don't let me have any fun, k?  I've been having horrible dreams lately- wacky ones.  I suppose it's stress.  My favorite one was a couple nights ago.  I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop who told me that I was under arrest for stealing the scissors.  Apparently my roomate Cristen had reported this.  So I went to her, extremely mad (I remember thinking to myself that it was more mad than I'd ever been) and started screaming at her about it, demanding she tell me why she turned me in when the scissors were mine to begin with and they'd been sitting in my drawer.  She said she couldn't find them so went to our leasing office to borrow theirs and decided to call the police.  She said she thought it was a good idea to get back at me for taking her shredded cheese and lettuce.  I then told her that she and her fiance Kirby could no longer borrow my couch and had to sit on the floor.  I felt so betrayed.  The end.  Apologies have been made to Cristen for anytime I've eaten her shredded cheese.

The past week has been SO wonderful.  It was like Christmas break all over again except without the good food.  By day 3 of being in pajamas (yes, I was in pajamas for 3 days straight), 5 frozen dinners and two nights of pancakes for dinner later, I was running out of ideas for what to eat.  So you'd think I'd go out to the store as soon as the roads cleared up, right?  I have yet to go to the grocery store.  I can't say I got in as much studying as I could have either...the 30 degree weather and 80 degree house just made me plain lazy.  I can no longer say that I am in lack of sleep, however.

Does anyone want to go swing dancing on February 8th (Thursday)?  The Swing Syndicate is having a Valentine's Formal with a live band at the Fed!  Let me know :)

I got some pictures in of some of the fun visiting Wheaton last month:

I felt like I was five again...it was great!

Current mood: lazy
Current song: "Acres of Hope" by Shane Bernard
Song clip:
Here in the valley, walk close beside me,
Don’t look back.
For love is growing vineyards up ahead.
You have called me master,
And though you’re in the dark here, call me friend.
Call me lover and marry me for good.
She will sing as in the days of youth, as You lead her away
Through valleys low, to acres of hope
Acres of hope.

It's snowing officially!

I drug Jennifer outside for some snow pictures...it didn't quite show up..

Just how I'd like to spend my day off

It snowed last night!  Ok not really, but it looks like it and so I am going to think that.  It iced over and everything is white... the only problem is that I can't leave my apartment because these Texas roads are not ready for icy weather.  Nor is my 2 wheel drive truck.  I'm crossing my fingers that this will last a couple days...I don't mind getting 'snowed in' so long as I have a fire, a hot cup of cocoa and my *beloved* GRE book.
